Façade’s restoration – Castello Calino

In 2009 started the restoration of the external façades of “Castelfaglia”, castle of the late XIX century in Calino (BS) to renovate and handle infiltration problems in various parts of the masonry and the roof. The intervention produced the study of new mortar mixtures, purposely created to lower the capillary water absorption, keeping constant the water vapor permeability. To the mixtures, coloured with inorganic oxides alongside quartz and marble dust, have been added specific nano-binders to increase mechanical resistances and guarantee a better durability.
