Target: Evaluate the deterioration of the central nave, cross vault and chapel of the Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral in Riva Del Garda (TN).
Diagnostics: A complete environmental and metric mapping was executed on the entire surface of the crypt and the cross vault, in three different weather conditions (sunny, cloudy, rainy).
Result: Thanks to the deepened study of the environmental and metric thermo-hygrometric data, it was possible to verify that the previous restoring interventions provided positive results: the coverings’ deterioration was “ancient” and no longer active. That allowed to avoid an extremely expensive and invasive intervention, limiting the restoration to a cleaning and adjustment of the coverings.
